Here's the latest news about the Stayman Division from Bob Crowl,
as of 4/25/06:

FEBRUARY:

Most of February was spent getting ready for the HSQC. Bob and others had secured a venue that was handy to State Route 71 and had plenty of parking.

Mort Katz had contacted those schools that had attended in 2005. The big problem was that most schools had scheduled other OMEA activities on the day of the contest. It is nearly impossible to find a day when even most schools do not have a function for these young folks. If it isn't music-related, then it is sports.

Also, Bob had several conversations with Bill Mungovan, President of the Zanesville Chapter, regarding Singing Valentines. Bob was able to send a complete package for his chapter to use as a guideline for beginning a Singing Valentine program.

MARCH:

Zanesville chapter requested some help with doing a SWOT analysis. Bob sent them a copy of the document that Mansfield had compiled. Bob asked that they use this only to guide in their thinking as they began the process. Bob also offered to go to their first meeting and assist them as they begin this important task. Jerry Deuschle, a new CC from the Greater Central Ohio Chapter, has offered to go as well.

APRIL:

April finds most chapters busy preparing for annual shows. Zanesville has moved their SWOT program back to May, after their show. Bob will be in contact with Bill on Monday, May 1 to get a meeting set so Bob and Jerry can help them begin their SWOT program.

Also, on April 27, Bob is going with Bob Miller (Marketing and PR DVP) and Fred Pummill (Membership Development DVP) to visit the Bucyrus Chapter. The purpose of the meeting will be to make some important decisions about the future of the Bucyrus Chapter, which is currently struggling.
