Chapters:
Here's
the latest news about the Rome Division from Ken Williams, as
of 4/20/06: The District roster lists 12 chapters in the Rome Division. Uniontown and Washington have folded, and are not listed on the Society's roster. Indiana and Johnstown did not respond to messages so their status is unknown. District leadership is checking with the Society Membership VP to verify these data, as there appears to be some mix-up that needs to be resolved. Here is a breakdown of chapters in the Rome Division and their weekly attendance numbers:
Activities: Presidents meeting - 4/15/06. Chapter Presidents agree that we need to join together to support each other. The Division is planning a picnic/concert for August and chapter visitations. The next meeting will be a President/Director meeting. Counselors - Trenton Ferro and Bob Parker are working with Ken Williams. Glenn Schillberg has volunteered his services. A meeting is in the works for the counselors and Ken to get together and plan division activities and chapter visits/tasks. Installations - Ken installed the Greater Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Metro officers this winter. Chapter visits - Ken has been to all the Pittsburgh chapters' meetings but needs to get the counselors assigned to the other chapters. Summary - Most of the chapters are doing performances and annual shows. Mon Valley competed in the Small Chorus Contest. Pittsburgh South Hills is singing the Star-Spangled Banner for the Wild Things Baseball Team on June 13th and asking Wheeling and Mon Valley to join them. Wheeling also sang at the Wheeling Symphony on 4/20/06. Greater Pittsburgh just did its Annual Show and was joined by the Pittsburgh Banjo Club. Mon Valley did its dinner show in March and Pittsburgh Metro's show is May 6. Our goal as a Division Team
(the DM and CCs) will be to motivate members and incorporate ways to get new and
younger members.
