Page Register on-line for JAD ContestsOn-line registration is now set up for all competitors. Note that this procedure now requires you to log on to the Society's "Members Only" site. If you don't have a Members Only password, you'll have to apply for one before you can submit the on-line contest entry. The Society has made it pretty easy to get a password or retrieve a forgotten one, using links right there on the sign-in page. Please have ready a list of song titles and arranger/copyright information. This will help speed the registration process. Once the registration form is completed, an e-mail message automatically goes to Bill Ray, JAD's VP Contest & Judging. Click one of the following links to begin the registration process: ...But you still have to send fees via snail mail After you've registered on-line for one of the quartet or chorus contests, you must still send the registration fee to Bill Ray at the address presented below. Your group won't be considered formally registered until you've shown Bill the money. If you're not listed as paid, your registration is only virtual, so to speak. Quartets and choruses that miss the fee-payment deadlines for their contests may be listed in the tables below, but they're not officially registered (and cannot compete) until payment has been received. Competitors in either Quartet or Chorus contests must pre-register at the following rates: District, $35 per man; and Prelims, $35 per man. Submit registration fees through your quartet contact or chorus manager to Bill Ray, VP-C&J (Check payable to JAD). All competitor fees are to be mailed to Bill Ray and must be received 14 days prior to the contest; competitors are not fully registered until the fee is received. If a man is competing both in a quartet and in a chorus, or is competing in multiple quartets or choruses, he only needs to pay once for the contest. When the fee is sent, please list the chorus or quartet that is paying for him. Send all checks and forms to: Bill Ray Upcoming Contests Schedules: no current schedules have been provided. Here's where you'll find the latest information on the judging panels for upcoming contests. Send feedback to the judgesAfter each major JAD contest, competitors participate in evaluation sessions with the judges. Typically, each chorus or quartet gets to spend evaluation time with one of the judges in each category (music, presentation, and singing). If you want to provide feedback of any kind to JAD and/or individual judges, you're encouraged to send your thoughts and comments to Bill Ray, JAD VP Contest & Judging, who will then share your input with appropriate judges and/or board members. All competitors (quartets and choruses) are urged to take a minute after the contest excitement has abated, and share your thoughts with us. The objective of this feedback from you to us is to gather information that will help us improve JAD contests, by reinforcing the things you like, and modifying the things you think could be improved. If you've got a specific issue that you want to discuss with one or more judges about your specific performance in this contest, tell Bill Ray, and he can arrange for you to get in touch directly with specific judges. Send E-mail feedback on judging to BIll Ray. Archives of JAD Contest ScoresThe archive of scoring summaries for major Society contests, including past JAD District contests, is available on the "Harmonet Reporter" site. We also maintain a local archive of JAD fall Divisional scores. And here are some scores from past JAD International Prelim contests.
