Divisions

The Division structure establishes seven geographically-based associations of chapters called Divisionswithin the Johnny Appleseed District. Each Division has a Division Manager, whose charter is to facilitate better two-way communications between chapters and the district board, leading to smoother operation throughout the district. Individual chapter needs will be met in a more timely manner, inter-chapter relations will be promoted, and closer-knit relationships will be developed among the chapters and between the chapters and district leadership. [From the Division Establishment Plan presented at the House of Delegates in April 2005]

The goals of JAD’s Division structure include:

  • Providing a more efficient and effective communication mechanism between the district board and management team and all of the chapters in the district.
  • Providing all JAD chapters with support and access to resources through the organized and proactive use of Division Managers and Chapter Counselors.
  • Improving inter-chapter communications in regions of the district (divisions) and increasing the number of inter-Chapter activities.
  • Creating opportunities for more fellowship, camaraderie, and singing among Barbershoppers in the Divisions.
  • Developing continuously a pool of leaders who will succeed the current district management team and board members in the future.

Each division has its own page here on SingJAD.com, where the division’s manager will provide current information that should be of interest to all of the chapters in the division. Just click on the division’s name below to see the latest news and information about that division.
